Infante Sagres ∗∗∗∗∗

One of Porto’s most historic grand dames it just underwent a massive revamp. This elegant, luxury hotel benefits from an excellent central location and is one of the best hotels in Porto near the Clérigos Tower and many of the city’s top attractions. Housed in a listed building, its interior contains a wealth of decorative features, such as exquisite ironwork, carved wood detail and magnificent stained glass panels. Pestana Porto – A Brasileira ∗∗∗∗∗

Best Place to Stay in Ribeira Porto

On the riverfront, Riberia is a UNESCO designated world heritage site with plenty of landmarks such as;

  • Monumental fountains,
  • Luís 1 Bridge and
  • House of  the Prince, birthplace of Prince Henry the Navigator.

The riverfront is touristy and lined with restaurants, cafés and bars.

Pestana Vintage Porto ∗∗∗∗∗

On the banks of the Douro river with great views of the Port wine warehouses that mark the opposite side, this hotel is located in the historic Ribeira square with buildings dating back to the 16th century. This UNESCO designated world heritage site bustles with market stalls, cafés and restaurants. Best Place to Stay in Bomfin

Just east of the city centre is Bomfim, it’s within easy walking distance of the centre. Here you’ll find the municipal library and some nice gardens for a leisurely stroll. There are plenty of restaurants and cafés in this part of town. It is less touristy than other neighbourhoods.

This charming 19th- century bourgeois home has been converted into a boutique style hotel with minimalist design.  You’ll love the high ceilings stamped with creative prose intended to represent the story of the building. Located away from the main tourist attractions on Rua da Boavista, there are plenty of dining options and shops in the neighbourhood and public transport is nearby.
